William And Kate Reveal How The Children Reacted To Their Date Night
Prince William and Kate enjoyed a date night at the theater! On Monday evening, the couple, who left George, Charlotte and Louis back home at the palace, attended the annual Royal Variety Performance at the Palladium Theatre. Still, the children weren’t far from William and Kate’s minds during their night out.
During the event, the Duke and Duchess met with the cast of Mary Poppins and while chatting with Petula Clark, Kate revealed that her children were really excited about where she and William were going.
And apparently they had asked if they could come to the musical event, but that Kate had told them, “Not on a school night!”
Kate said that George, Charlotte and Louis would “love” to go and see the musical on stage. Even William chimed in, saying, “I love Mary Poppins.”
The annual event was hosted by comedian Rob Beckett and Ramesh Ranganathan this year, who jokingly introduced the royal couple and teased them that they were on a “date night.”
Ramesh then told, like the Cambridges, he had three children and guessed that William and Kate thought the same thing when they saw their three little faces running into their bedroom each morning “Why did we do this?” he said, causing the pair to laugh.
The event is in aid of the Royal Variety Charity, formally, The Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund, of which The Queen is Patron.
The money raised from the show helps hundreds of entertainers throughout the UK, who need help and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health, or hard times.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were greeted by two children, one handing over a posy of flowers, as they entered the London Palladium Theatre, where the show is held.
Kate looked stunning wearing a Alexander McQueen gown, which featured sections of semi-sheer lace. Kate finished off the look with a blowout and her hoop earrings from Erdem.
