Watch Harry And Meghan Talk More In-Depth About Disney Work
A video has resurfaced of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex talk about the possibility of Meghan doing voiceover work jokingly. The video is from last years London premiere of Disney’s live-action remake of the beloved classic, The Lion King.
In it we see Prince Harry and his wife talking with the director of the movie, Jon Favreau, with Harry saying: “If anyone needs any extra voiceover work…” Meghan then broke into the conversation to joke: “That’s really why we’re here – it’s the pitch!” A teasing Prince Harry added: “Just not Scar,” in reference to the movie’s villain. We think Meghan would make a great Scar for what its worth.
There were lots of other celebrities at the event, including Beyonce and Jay-Z. Prince Harry got the chance to chat with Disney CEO Bob Iger, “You know she does voiceovers?” to which the executive responded, “Oh really? I did not know that.” The Duke replied, “She’s really interested,” to which Iger responded: “We’d love to try.” It was revealed earlier this month that Meghan has been hired by Disney to work on a yet-untitled project for the company in exchange for a donation to the charity Elephants Without Borders.
The couple has reached an agreement with Buckingham Palace on Saturday night, finally settling what will happen to Meghan and Harry in the future. The deal is that starting in spring, they will no longer receive public funds, will be giving up their HRH titles (becoming known as simply Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex), and will repay the £2.5 million cost of renovations to their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Now that they are no longer members of the royal family, the two of them have the freedom to undertake any kind of project they deem fit. Ted Sarandos, head of Netflix, commented on it during an event in Los Angeles on Saturday night, showing his interest to work with the couple.
“Who wouldn’t be interested? Yes, sure,” he said. While at the moment Prince Harry and Meghan have released no details on what their actual plan is for the future, fans speculation has run wild, from book deals and TV shows to collaborating with Oprah Winfrey on a series about mental health for Apple TV+. Who knows what the two “former” royals have in store for us.
