The Work Of The Duchess Of Cambridge Is Being Sold On eBay
We are all aware of the effect that Kate Middleton has on anything she is associated with. From the clothes, she wears to the jewellery she chooses, every item that has been seen with the Duchess Of Cambridge almost immediately sells out within minutes of the public seeing her with it.
However, this effect dubbed the ‘Kate effect‘, has started showing up in the most peculiar places. Recently the two royals paid a visit to Beigel Bake Brick Lane Bakery, where they got their hands dirty by making bagels themselves. And you can image the surprise when days later those same bagels ended up listed on eBay.
The listing, which ends on Saturday, is titled: “Royal Bagels made by the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge”, accompanied by photos of the two bagels bought at the Beigel Bake Brick Lane Bakery and others of Kate getting inside her vehicle after finishing her engagement.
While her fans usually flock to buy any product connected with the Duchess of Cambridge, it seems that the bagels don’t spark the same interest in them as the listing will be ending soon, with zero bids so far and a starting price of 6 pounds.
During their visit to the bakery on Wednesday, the two royals were given 7¼ lb piles of dough, kneading them into shape to make 30 4oz bagels.
The two, always trying to outdo each other, turned it into a competition, with their technique being judged by the experts.
As the Duke put the finishing touches to his dough ball, Elias Cohen, whose father Amnon founded the bakery in 1974, said: “Not bad. I think Kate wins!”
“We’ll go with that,” replied the future King, laughing as he placed his dough on a tray for shaping. “The usual story.”
As they continued to work on the dough, the Duchess laughed: “Just wait until you see the aftermath! I had beginner’s luck. They are getting worse!”
