The Special Connection Between Princess Charlotte And Princess Beatrice Daughter
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi welcomed their first child two and a half weeks ago, and only recently did the pair reveal how their baby daughter will be named. And as expected the two followed in the footsteps of many other royal couples and paid tribute to the Queen when naming their child.
The full name of Princess Beatrice daughter is Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. Her middle name is a tribute to her great-grandmother, a detail she shares with many other royal family members, such as Princess Charlotte and Lady Louise Windsor.
Every couple in the monarch’s immediate family has given one of their children the middle name Elizabeth. Among them is Princess Beatrice as well, with her full name being Beatrice Elizabeth Mary.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge named their daughter Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, paying homage to both her great-grandmother and grandmother. The Earl and Countess of Wessex’s eldest child also has the name, being Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary.
The Queen’s grandson Peter Phillips and his former wife Autumn named their second daughter Isla Elizabeth. This has become somewhat of an unwritten tradition for the royal family in recent times.
The Queen’s full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, which by itself is also a tribute to her grandmother Queen Mary of Teck and her great-grandmother Alexandra of Denmark, who was Edward VII’s Queen consort.
When it comes to announcing their children’s names there are no set rules, for example, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their children’s names around two to three days after their births, while Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice both took nearly two weeks to confirm their babies’ monikers.
In the past, it was a requirement for the monarch to approve the name of the royal baby and while this is no longer the case, the Queen’s family members usually reveal the name to the Queen first before going public with it.
