Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie.
It read: “The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news of the birth of a daughter for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
Prince Harry and Meghan released a statement of Saturday announcing the birth of their second child, a daughter, named Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana. Lili was born on June 4, at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. Both she and Meghan are healthy and settling in at home.
“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet.
“Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales,” the couple explained in the birth announcement.
The couple added a thank you to all their supporters, saying that Lili “is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe.”
Baby Lilibet is the Queen’s 11th great-grandchild and is eighth in line to the throne. It means Prince Andrew, who was born second in line in 1960, moves down to the ninth place. She is also the couple’s second child after Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who is now aged two.
