Prince Harry Shares Emotional Letter From Prince William In New Documentary
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s controversial docuseries has caused quite a stir since its recent premier on Netflix.
During episode three of the series Prince Harry shares some heart wrenching details of a letter older brother Prince William wrote to him during Harry’s tour in Afghanistan.
“There are still scars left open from my mum’s awesomeness, to put it mildly,” says Prince Harry while recalling his time spent serving, when the series than cuts to a previous interview of the royal at his Army base.
During the throwback clip the Prince says: “Well hopefully she’d [Princess Diana] be proud William sent me a letter saying how proud he reckons she would have been it’s one thing that I don’t necessarily think about the whole time.”
“The people that I met and the lifelong friends I made [whilst in the army], that was my second family,” explains Harry.
Princess Diana and her relationship with her son is a lasting theme throughout the series, as HELLO!’s royal editor, Emily Nash explains.
“Princess Diana is a very strong theme in this documentary from Harry talking about his childhood and how much she protected him and William, particularly from the press through to her charity work and his comparison of Meghan to her, he very much describes himself as his mother’s son as many people do in the documentary and i think we’ll see more of that as the series progresses,” says Nash.
The first half of the series focuses on the early stages of Harry and Meghan’s relationship, they also include an glimpse into the location of their first date and how the pair figured out they were each other’s ‘the one’.
The second half of the series is set to air next Thursday at 8 am.
