Prince George Makes First-Time Appearance At Wimbledon
On Sunday, Prince William and Kate returned to Wimbledon to watch the Men’s Singles’ Final. But, this time, they took a special guest with them- their first child, Prince George.
The royal trio was in great spirits as they stepped out at the All England Lawn Tennis Club to watch Nick Kyrgios go up against Novak Djokovic.
Before the game, Prince William and Kate wrote: “Off to the @Wimbledon. Men’s Singles final!
“It’s going to be a hot one!”
During the Wimbledon match, Prince George was seen hiding his face, laughing and wincing as he watched the action unfold on the pitch. When questioned on who he was supporting between Novak Djokovic and his opponent Nick Kyrgios, the young royal was too shy to answer. His dad Prince William whispered: ‘Djokovic’, but then joked: ‘We’ll see how long it lasts. He’ll support the winner.’
Once again, Kate’s fashion game was on point as she opted for a navy polka dot dress from Alessandra Rich. The young prince George was spotted dressed smartly in a full navy blue suit with a shirt.
Prince George, eight, is said to be a passionate tennis fan and has even taken a lesson with Roger Federer.
Speaking of their practice session together at the time, Federer said: ‘When questioned by reporters about his knockabout with George, Federer said: ‘At that stage it’s all about just touch the ball, it’s already good.’
Kate became royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club in 2016. And ever since she joined the royal family in 2011, she’s been a regular at the summer tournament.
Yesterday, she attended the Women’s Singles’ Final and saw Elena Rybakina defeat Ons Jabeur in an epic match. Then she presented Elena with the infamous Rosewater Dish.
