Meghan Has Already Planned A Gift For Her Future Baby Daughter
After five months of marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan have announced they are expecting their first child together. Kensington revealed their baby is due in Spring 2019.
However, Meghan has been thinking about her babies for a few years now.
And while we are all eagerly waiting for the arrival of the baby, it seems that the Duchess of Sussex already has a gift planned for her future baby daughter with her husband, the Duke of Sussex.
Back in 2015, in an interview with HELLO! Canada the actress revealed that she owns a Cartier Tank Française watch. And there is a special behind the watch.
“When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version [of the watch],” she said of the timepiece, which starts at $5,500.
“I had it engraved on the back, ‘To M.M. From M.M.’ And I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”
At first sight, there’s doubt why Meghan opted for Cartier’s Tank Française model. It is made from stainless steel and 18-karat gold links. It is described as a “modern heirloom.”
At that time Meghan had no idea that the gift will have second significance too. Apparently, Harry’s mom, Diana, had a close connection to the brand.
Princess Diana as often noticed wearing Cartier’s gold Tank Française. After her tragic death, her oldest son William kept the watch as a memento.
Catherine is also known for sporting Cartier fine jewelry. You must have noticed the a sapphire-embedded stainless steel watch that William gave her on their third wedding anniversary.
In a 2017 Newsweek interview, Harry talked that he plans to raise his children with the same down-to-earth philosophies as his late mother Princess Diana.
“My mother took a huge part in showing me an ordinary life,” he said. Harry added that he still does his own grocery shopping.
“Thank goodness I’m not completely cut off from reality… I am determined to have a relatively normal life, and if I am lucky enough to have children, they can have one, too.”
