Prince William And Kate Announce New Trip Together For St David’s Day
Prince William and Kate Middleton are due to visit Wales on 1 March to celebrate its national day.
On Wales’ national day or St David’s Day, the Cambridges will celebrate the history of the region as well as learn how local community organisations are supporting young people and about the importance of the agricultural industry to the rural populations via their travels to Abergavenny and Blaenavon.
While the couple hasn’t been in Wales since December of 2020 when they stopped by Cardiff during the royal train tour, William has been their solo, travelling to Brighter Futures in Rhyl last May.
William and Kate will begin the Wales trip by visiting Pant Farm near Abergavenny, which is a goat farm providing goat milk to a local cheese producer for nearly 20 years, here they’ll learn about the pros and cons of the sector and the workings of the farm and its connection with local industries and services.
The royal couple will also visit Abergavenny Market while in the area, marking St David’s Day and seeing where the product actually ends up.
Off to Blaenavon, they’ll be stopping at the BlaenavonHwb, a youth centre committed to supporting over 600 local youths, where they will get to experience and enjoy some of the activities that the centre provides, including some baking, more specifically the making of Welsh cakes.
The Cambridges do have a connection to Wales as they lived in Anglesey from 2011 to 2013 when William served in the RAF as a helicopter pilot.
On the topic of other royal visits, Kate also has a two-day working visit to Copenhagen from 22 to 23 February with her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. We also aren’t aware of a family getaway to Anmer Hall, the Cambridges Norfolk home, as is tradition during the February half-term.
