Mike Tindall Revealed What The Royals Did After Prince Philip Funeral

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Friday, Mike Tindall, touched upon Prince Philip funeral. Speaking to Kate Garraway and Ben Shepher, Mike said he was very impressed by how amazingly the Queen coped within the circumstances.

But he also revealed that he and the other royals weren’t able to be with her following the funeral.

“I think thatā€™s what she does, she leads by example and you say, ‘amazing to see’. But I didnā€™t really want to see it, but everyoneā€™s seen it now,” Mike said.

“And even after the funeral it was sort of, ā€˜you all need to leaveā€™, so you didnā€™t even get to have that supportive side afterwards.”

Mike continued: “I think the way that the funeral was planned and run was exceptional. And for Zara it was seeing his carriage ponies and the gloves and the sugar cube box and all that lined up.

“If he was looking down I think, being in the middle of a pandemic where it was more low key, I think he probably would have been more happy with that even though the rest of us probably would have liked it to be more of a celebration. But thatā€™s the man that he was.”

Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh was laid to rest on April 17, in an intimate funeral at St Georgeā€™s Chapel.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, only 30 people were able to attend. However, thanks to living coverage of the ceremony, more than 13 million people felt like theyā€™ve taken part in it too.

His funeral was a ā€œā€œCeremonial Royal Funeralā€, the same as that of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. It was not a ā€œState Funeralā€ – something that is generally reserved for Monarchsā€ according to the Royal Family website.
