William And Kate Just Made Major Change To Their Social Media Accounts
Prince William and Kate keep the public updated on their personal and professional life via their social media accounts. And now, the couple has decided to add an even more personal touch to their online platforms. They changed the display name on both their Instagram and Twitter pages; from Kensington Palace to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Below, the biography section reads: âThe official Instagram of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, based at Kensington Palace.’
The @kensingtonroyal handle was created back in January 2015 as a joint account for Prince William, Kate and Prince Harry. After Prince Harry and Meghan tied the knot in May 2018, they created their own Instagram account (now inactive), @sussexroyal. Prince William and Kateâs Instagram account boasts with 11.8 million followers, while they have 1.9 million on Twitter, where the royal fans can keep up with the familyâs activities.
It is unknown why the royal couple has updated their social media display names. However, it may have something to do with their increasing profile online recently.
Just on Monday, they shared a video on their accounts, which features celebrities like Dua Lipa, David Tennant and Anthony Joshua, highlighting the importance of mental health during the coronavirus pandemic. They recorded a special message in honour of Mental Health Awareness Week.
For the online appearance, Duchess Kate looked effortlessly elegant in a red and white dress from Beulah, accessorized with a pair of drop earrings.Â
The message was broadcast across every radio station in the UK on Monday 18 May at 10:59am, including national and local, for the first time.
âWeâre all connected. And sometimes just talking about how youâre feeling can make a big difference,â William said in the recording.
Kate continued: âIf youâre struggling, itâs important to talk about it. Or if someone you know is acting differently, itâs OK to ask how they are. Use this moment to send a message.â
