Meghan Just Carried Out One More Secret Engagement
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just made their return from their six-week break from royal duties and already they have started going on engagements, public and even secret ones. The Duchess was seen leaving the National Theatre in London’s South Bank on Wednesday after they carried out their first royal engagement on Tuesday.
Her return was nothing but stylish, with her outfit consisting of a light blue shirt and high-waisted black trousers with a navy coat draped over her shoulders. Her brunette locks were styled in an elegant updo. Quite stylish for an ordinary meeting at The National’s smaller Dorfman theatre. Buckingham Palace is yet to comment on what the engagement was about.
Last year in January, Meghan was given her first four patronages, among them the National theatre. Her first official visit to the theatre came soon after, meeting with some of the teams and apprentices working behind the scenes and seeing how the organization works. At the time she was pregnant with baby Archie, so “the two of them” were treated to a War Horse-inspired performance by primary schoolchildren during her engagement.
For their first engagement after the return, Prince Harry and Meghan visited the Canada House. There they wanted to praise the country for the hospitality they showed during the festive period, as they family-of-three spent the Christmas holidays on Vancouver Island, Canada. Their previous engagement was over two months ago when they appeared at the Remembrance Day service in November.
At the Canada House, the royal couple met with High Commissioner for Canada to the UK, Janice Charette, as well as the staff there. The couple talked with them about their stay in Canada, emphasizing the hospitality and support they received during their stay in the country.
Meghan told diplomats: “My goodness it was just such an incredible time we were able to have there and with our son too. And just to be able to take in the warmth that we experienced from the people also just walk around and just see the beauty of Canada. To see Archie go ‘ahh’ when you walk by and just see how stunning it is, so it meant a lot to us.”
Meghan made another secret engagement before her visit to Canada House, stopping by to the Hubb Community Kitchen in west London. The Duchess collaborated with the women, whose community was affected by the Grenfell Tower Fire in 2017, on a charity cookbook to raise funds for the kitchen. According to them, the Duchess does this often, “checking in” on the group and seeing how it’s going.
