William Received The Cutest Gift For Charlotte At BAFTA’s New Venue
On Monday, Prince William officially opened BAFTA’s new venue in London, launching an exhibition celebrating award-winning films.
BAFTA Piccadilly will be the charity’s home for the next two years while the current premises next door undergo a two-year renovation.
Prince William, handsome as always, wore a navy suit teamed with a striped blue tie and crisp white shirt.
William’s schedule for the vent included a script, storyboard and costume viewing session from a range of film and TV productions from the last 75 years, including The Clangers, Killing Eve and Oscar-winner The Favourite.
During the event, the Prince had a conversation with the writer of the stop-animation children’s show The Clangers, originally created by his father Oliver Postgate. Dan Postgate gave him a hand-knitted Clanger to give to his daughter, Princess Charlotte.
“I’ve made enough clangers, so this will go down extremely well,” William revealed.
William also received a pair of the children’s pajamas worn by Killing Eve star Jodie Comer who plays Villanelle in the second season of the show.
Producer Sally Woodward Gentle told reporters: “We gave him a pair of Villanelle’s pajamas. They are the ones with the cartoon all over them. She wears them in episodes one and two — they are a little boy’s pajamas which she nicks, and she wears. They have got ‘Kapow!’ And cartoony stuff all over them.”
“They are meant to be worn quite small,” said Woodward Gentle.
“But they are adult-sized. We had them made up especially for the show. We had a few made up, and that’s the last pair left.”
The royal, who has been president of Bafta since 2010, also attended a reception where he met scholars who have taken part in BAFTA’s ‘Prince William Scholarships in Film, Games and Television’ programme. William helped to relaunch the charity’s learning and new talent programme in 2013.
