William And Kate Arrive At Windsor Castle For Archie’s Christening
Prince William and Kate have arrived at Windsor Castle for baby Archie’s christening today.
The doting aunt and uncle were pictured driving themselves to the event, among the small crowd invited to see Harry and Meghan’s son to be christened.
It is thought that they haven’t brought Archie’s cousins George, Charlotte and Louis with them.
The fans caught a glimpse of the Cambridge couple as they made their way to the event, with Kate looking lovely and summery in blue.
Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is expected to attend, as is Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. They have reportedly arrived via a helicopter, which was spotted overhead on the special day.
Tiggy Legge-Bourke, who was a nanny to both Harry and William, has also been pictured arriving at Windsor Castle.
Archie Harrison will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury at Windsor Castle in front of close family and friends.
The baby boy will be baptized in a spectacular Lily Font and christened in the same royal gown Kate’s children wore.
Prince Harry and Meghan decided not to include the press and the public in their baby’s christening and not reveal the names of the godparents.
Instead of having press photographers, fashion photographer Chris Allerton, who took their wedding photos, will capture the special moment.
Still, keen royal fans were gathered for the event. Chris Imafidon, a Royal Historical Society member, said: “It’s fascinating, a great thing. You can’t have a public or private christening. A christening is a public event, but every mother wants to protect their baby especially because of the shadow looming over them… What’s fascinating is that this is the first baby that can be a king, potentially an American president, an African president. No baby is like this baby. He embodies all different countries.”
