The Reason Why Meghan Always Cradles Her Baby Bump
Meghan Markle has drawn quite the attention for holding her baby bump in public, as she is expecting her first royal baby.
The Duchess of Sussex showed us her baby bump at the British Fashion Awards on Monday night. As she went to give an award to Clare Waight Keller, her wedding dress designer, the soon-to-be mother held her baby bump with both hands.
But some people on social media were not happy with her actions as she received some negative comments.
“At public events, Meghan may feel more protective of her baby and thus cradle her bump more than usual. Mothers may feel that stroking their bump calms the baby in some situations and during public events, Meghan may be either consciously or sub-consciously attempting to do this.”-Liz Halliday told Femail.
Another expert, Katherine Graves, added that the move could be positive for the baby.
The founder of KG Hypnobirthing said: “Meghan is practising responsive natural parenting and touching, speaking and cradling her bump will be very beneficial for the baby.”
Meghan presented the womenswear designer of the year award to Clare Waight Keller, artistic director at Givenchy, at the Royal Albert Hall event.
“It’s such a pleasure to be here, celebrating British fashion and British designers, in my new home in the UK.”-the Duchess said in a speech.
Meghan revealed her pregnancy in October when she landed in Sydney for a Commonwealth tour with Prince Harry, five months after they got married. The royal couple visited Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, and Meghan already starting to cradle her little baby bump.
The Duchess only has a few months before she’s due in spring 2019.
